Joe Pulizzi, owner of infamous pizza joint Lorenzo & Sons on South Street, said he is planing to open a second location of the restaurant in West Chester, reports WestChesterDish.com. But at this spot, you can order more than just pizza.
Pulizzi wants to rehab the Sprazzo building at the corner of High and Gay streets and also plans to offer stromboli, calzones, cheesesteaks, sandwiches and more.
Lorenzo's now only serves plain slices with the opportunity for limited toppings once a week. Cash is king in South Philly.
Pulizzi told the media outlet that he never even know that location was out there, but he's been interested since 2011. In the summer of 2012, Lorenzo's on South Street caught fire. They were closed for almost a year until they reopened last fall.
The new location will appeal to the heavy college student population. "Lorenzo's is the type of pizza place that depends on foot traffic and the college crowds, and this was just perfect," Pulizzi told WestChesterDish.com.
The West Chester location is slated to open later this year.
