Malden man charged with rape of disabled teenage family friend

A Malden man is facing charges of raping an underage and mentally disabled family friend.

Andie Jean, 23, is pleading not guilty to charges including rape of a child with force and indecent assault and battery on a person with an intellectual disability, WCVB reports.

According to a relative of the victim, Jean had been left on the home’s porch while the relative stepped away for a momentto speak with friends. When he returned from his conversation,Jean was found partially undressed in the teenager’s bedroom. He was hiding in the closet and pulling up his pants.

“[The family member] said he asked what was going on and Jean stated, ‘My bad,’” Saugus Police Detective JamesDonovan told the Lynn Item.Jean told police that the alleged victim tried to hug him repeatedly and they “ended up on the floor.” He confirmed the witness’s and alleged victim’s stories in a taped statement, the Item reported.

The alleged victim is a teenager with the intellectual capability of a 6 or 7 year old.

Jean was ordered to be held without bail. He will face an assessment hearing on Sept. 17.
