A man is set to be arraigned Monday on child molestation charges for alleged assaults at the Boys & Girls Club in Arlington during the 1970s.

The Middlesex District Attorney’s office said in a statement that Paul Collins, 62, will be charged with rape of a child by force, three counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under the age of 14, and open and gross lewdness.

Collins, a former Arlington resident who worked at the club until 1980, was arrested Friday at his home in Centereach, N.Y., and waived extradition to Massachusetts. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Cambridge District Court.

“The charges allegedly involve several male victims, now in their mid-40s, who met the defendant through their membership at the club in the 1970s,” the D.A.’s office said.

Arlington Police learned of the alleged abuse while investigating molestation accusations against another former Boys & Girls Club employee, who is now dead.

The D.A. said the club’s current managers have cooperated with the investigations.
