Police in East Longmeadow have identified a man who they said assaulted a woman because she was taking too long at a Redbox DVD rental machine.

East Longmeadow police said on Monday night that they have identified the man wanted for the alleged assault and that the investigation is continuing. Police had put out a surveillance image of the man in hopes someone would help identify him.

Police said that on Saturday evening, the man was at a Super Stop & Shop with a woman waiting behind a 26-year-old woman and her nephew at the Redbox, according to The Republican.

The man apparently grew upset with the length of time he had to wait and confronted the woman. He then pushed his chest against hers, pushed her against the rental box and pushed his forearm against her neck, police said.

At that point the man fled with the woman he was with.

Police said the woman who was using the Redbox was not seriously injured.
