A Delaware man was critically injured Sunday night during an ATV crash in Ellendale.
Police said Frederick Everitt, 22, was driving a Honda Rubicon four-wheeler south on Webbs Road shortly after 8:45 p.m.
When the man reached Beach Highway, he allegedly failed to remain stopped and instead turned east, directly into the path of a 1997 Nissan pickup truck driven by David MacGregor, 23.
The pickup truck rear-ended the ATV, ejecting Everitt onto the roadway, according to investigators.
Everitt, who police said was not wearing a helmet, was rushed to Christiana Medical Center, where he was hospitalized in critical condition.
MacGregor and a 27-year-old passenger were both wearing seat belts. They were treated for injuries at Milford Memorial Hospital and released.
Police believe Everitt may have been consuming alcohol before the crash.
Beach Highway at Webbs Road was closed for about three hours as the scene was investigated and cleared.
Troopers were continuing to look into the incident Monday.
