Man dies after Roxbury shooting

Boston police were looking for suspects after a man was shot and killed Monday night in Roxbury.

The shooting took place outside the Holgate Apartments on Elm Hill Avenue around 8:15 p.m.

The victim, believed to be in his 20s, was standing next to a car and talking with people inside it when he was shot in the chest, the Boston Globe reported.

He was transported to Boston Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

The alleged shooter fled on foot. Police are looking for two possible suspects and interviewing witnesses.

“We’re hopeful with the help that we’ve received from the public that we’ll be able to make some headway on this case,” BPD Captain John Danilecki told the Globe.

The victim’s name was being withheld until his family was notified.
