Police said a man forced a 19-year-old boy to perform a sex act at a subway station in Manhattan on Sunday morning.

The crime occurred at 11:45 a.m., police said.

Police said the two met on a downtown D train, which the teen boarded at West 155th Street and Eighth Avenue in Manhattan. When the teen sat down, he noticed the man standing across from him, touching his genitals over his clothes.

The man approached the teen, police said, and told him to get off the train with him.

They got out at West 59th Street and waited together on the platform until a downtown E train arrived, police said.

Police said when they got out at West 50th Street, the man led the teen to the north end of the downtown platform and forced him to engage in a criminal sex act.

He then stole the teen’s backpack before jumping on another E train, but the teen followed him onto the train and got his backpack back without a struggle, police said. The teen took a cellphone photo of the man before getting off the train.

Police said the man is 6 feet tall and around 190 pounds, and was wearing a grey jacket, beige pants and a black knit hat. They estimated that he is in his 30s.

Anyone with information is urged to call the NYPD at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). Tips can also be submitted online, or texted to 275637 (CRIMES) with the message TIP577.
