A 38-year-old man was shot and killed early yesterday across the street from City Hall, police said.
Despite some reports, the victim was not believed to have been taking pictures at Love Park prior to the shooting, sources told Metro.
The victim, whose name was not released, has a record with 15 prior arrests, the source said.
The man was robbed and shot once in the left side of his stomach at 2:43 a.m. while standing in a stairwell near the plaza at the city’s Municipal Services Building at 1400 JFK Blvd., police said.
Police are searching for two suspects, both black males between the ages of 26 and 28, who stood about 5 foot 10 inches, according to police. The suspects fled on foot on 15th Street toward Arch Street, police said.
Eight shots were fired, police said, and a hand gun was used in the shooting.
