A Russian national who was arrested last year after taking pictures outside Secretary of State John Kerry’s Beacon Hill home will be in court Wednesday to answer to child pornography charges.

Valdimir Romanov, 30, was indicted last week on six counts of possession of child pornography, according to the Suffolk district attorney’s office. He was arrested Wednesday by Boston police and Diplomatic Service Security agents.

Romanov’s arrest comes after investigators conducted a months-long investigation after his arrest last July.

“Diplomatic Security agents obtained a federal warrant to search two computers found inside Romanov’s home and discovered sexually explicit images of children on the hard drive of one laptop computer,” the Suffolk district attorney’s office said in a statement.

An additional warrant to search for the contraband images was obtained and federal agents allegedly found more images of child pornography.

Romanov was arrested after he parked in a no parking zone on Beacon Hill and began taking photographs of Kerry’s home. He allegedly refused to identify himself when approached by federal agents and was arrested for drinking in public. Authorities said they found an open container of alcohol in his car as well as a modified Ruger pellet gun loaded with a carbon dioxide cartridge.
