A man allegedly stole a woman’s laptop around 9:30 a.m. this morning at a Starbucks on Huntington Avenue, causing a brief foot pursuit that ended with the suspect’s escape.
According to Boston Police, the victim was getting herself a coffee at the Starbucks on Huntington Avenue near Massachusetts Avenue when she noticed a man snatching her iPad from her table and slipping it into his black backpack.
The victim approached the suspect outside the coffee shop and demanded her iPad back. The suspect allegedly responded by saying, “It was on the table,” and handed it over.
That’s when the victim returned to her table inside the coffee shop only to realize that her Mac laptop was missing, police said.
She went outside and allegedly saw him running down the street.
According to reports on Twitter, the victim pursued the man, who is described as a slim, black male, but had no luck catching him.
Police described him as being about 5-foot-10, and wearing a black baseball cap, a gray hooded sweatshirt, and cornrows.
