MAP: New York City street closures August 15, 16 and 17

Summer Streets, the Indian Association Parade and Festival and Harlem Week Festival will cause traffic delays and street closures in New York City this weekend. Plan accordingly.

The Department of Transportation and NYPD said there may be residual delays near all of the street closures on August 8, 9 and 10. Closures and delays may also occur before and after events during setup at 8 a.m. or breakdown before 7 p.m.

Friday, August 15

Fifth Avenue between Sterling Place and Dean Street in Brooklyn will be closed from 5 to 10 p.m. for DOT Weekend Walks North Slope Summer Strolls.

Third Avenue between 80th Street and 90th Street in Brooklyn will be closed from 6 to 10 p.m for DOT Weekend Walks Summer Stroll on 3rd.

Saturday, August 16

Be sure to check out the finalSummer Streetsevent happening Saturday, August 16. Summer street coversseven milesof Manhattan streets from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. for biking, walking and other activities, including a seven-block-longart installationin the Park Avenue Tunnel. Summer Streets will close Centre Street between the Brooklyn Bridge exit and Reade Street/Lafayette Street, Lafayette Street between Reade Street/Centre Street and Fourth Avenue, Fourth Avenue between Lafayette Street and East 15th Street, Union Square East between East 15th Street and East 17th Street, Park Avenue South between East 17th Street and East 32nd Street, Park Avenue between East 32nd Street and East 72nd Street and 72nd Street between Park Avenue and 5th Avenue. There are rest stops along the route.

Sixth Avenuebetween West 42nd Street and West 56th Street in Manhattan will be closed Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Ancient Order of Hibernians Street Festival.

Gourvernuer Street between Madison Street and Water Street will be closed from noon to 6 p.m. for the I’m Not Afraid Lift You Up-Stickball Classic.

West 135th Street between 5th Avenue and St. Nicholas Avenue and Lenox Terrace Place between 135th and 134th Streets will be closed from noon to 7 p.m. for the 40th annual Harlem Week Festival.

Bathgate Avenue between Cross Bronx Expressway and Claremont Parkway in The Bronx will be closed from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m for the International Hip Hop Parade.

Buhre Avenue between Crosby Avenue and Jarvis Avenue in The Bronx will be closed from Noon to 5 p.m. for the DOT Weekend Walks Pelham Bay Merchants Association.

Sunday, August 17

The Federation of Indian Association Parade and Festival will close several streets along and near its route in Manhattan from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. The parade route will run along Madison Avenue between 38th Street and 27th Street. The festival will take place on Madison Avenue between 23rd Street and 27th Street. Expect closures and delays in these areas.

Madison Avenue between East 42nd Street and East 55th Street will be closed from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. for the Daytop Madison Avenue Festival.

The Grand Concourse between 165th Street and 167th Street will be closed from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for the DOT Weekend Walks Boogie on the Boulevard.

Fulton Street between Water Street and Gold Street in Manhattan will be closed from Noon to 6 p.m. for the CB#1 NYC Business Expo Street Festival.

Myrtle Avenue between Fresh Pond Road and Forest Avenue in Queens will be closed from Noon to 6 p.m. for the Myrtle Avenue Festival.

Shore Boulevard between Astoria Park South and Ditmars Boulevard in Queens will be closed from 1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. for the DOT Weekend Walks Astoria Park Strolls event.
