On a voice vote and with no debate, Massachusetts House lawmakers on Wednesday afternoon approved legislation authorizing Sunday morning alcohol sales.
The bill is sponsored by Rep. Steve Howitt, a Republican of Seekonk, and cosponsored by Republican Reps. Kevin Kuros of Uxbridge and Elizabeth Poirier of North Attleboro.
The bill, which strikes the word noon and replaces it with 10 a.m. in the portion of the general laws governing a “common day of rest and legal holidays,”now moves to the state Senate.
