With the help of MassBike, the MBTA tested and refined specifications for new “double deck” bike racks to be installed next spring at several T stations.
According to MBTA spokesman Joe Pesaturo, eighty of these new racks, each capable of holding 8 bikes, will be installed in the six new Pedal & Park Bike cages that will be opening next year.
Installments are scheduled at the Braintree, Ashmont, Davis Square, Oak Grove, and Malden Center stations.
According to reports, the South Station Pedal & Park, which already has racks, will also be completed soon.
