MBTA police arrest rape suspect at South Station

An MBTA police officer spotted a Billerica rape suspect and arrested him at 11:20 p.m. Tuesday at South Station.

In an effort to keep riders abreast of how they are keeping the transit system safe, MBTA transit police often post updates on Twitter, and this situation was no different.

T police had their eye out for the suspect after the Billerica Police Department released a “Wanted” poster that said he may be headed to South Station, according to MBA Superintendent-in-Chief Joseph O’Connor.

MBTA Officer David Jamie was on patrol at the South Station bus terminal when he spotted Walsh, and confirmed that there was a warrant out for his arrest.

“It’s another example of the excellent work that is done on a day to day basis by transit police on the MBTA,” O’Connor said.
