Max Weinberg — drummer for Bruce Springsteen’s E Street Band and longtime NBC Television late night personality — on Valentine’s Day begins a new Monday-night gig with his own big band at the Hiro Ballroom in Chelsea’s Maritime Hotel. “Mighty Max Maritime Mondays” begin next Monday and continue March 7, 14 and 21. Doors open at 6 p.m. and Weinberg will perform sets at 7 and 8 p.m.
Weinberg will lead a band boasting a 12-member horn section, bass and piano that was created in the mold of his early big band instrumental heroes, Buddy Rich and Count Basie.
