Some 9/11 family members say former presidential contender Mike Huckabee is trying to milk the 10th anniversary of 9/11 for $9.95, plus $3.95 in shipping and handling.
Huckabee has signed on to hawk videos for Learn Our History, a company that creates cartoons for schoolchildren about America’s history. One of the latest offerings depicts a cartoon jetliner crashing into the two towers.
Some 9/11 family members have spoken out against Huckabee’s sudden educational interest.
“Sept. 11 is coming up, and he’s looking for extra attention and some extra money,” said Jim Riches, a retired FDNY chief whose son, James, died in the towers.
Riches went on to call profiteers of 9/11 “vultures.”
“Kids should be educated by teachers, not preachers and politicians,” said Riches. “Giuliani made millions talking about 9/11 ,and Huckabee’s another one. They make careers of 9/11. It’s exploiting American history.”
Any profit made off of 9/11 is in bad taste, said Sally Regenhard, who lost her son Christian nearly 10 years ago in the attacks.
