A New Hampshire woman is relieved to have the ashes of her deceased husband back in her possession.
Allison Kelley was contacted by the mail recovery service this week and learned her husband's missing ashes have been recovered, WCVB reports. She plans on heading to the Florida Keys this weekend to scatter the remains.
Back in August, Kelley's husband Chuck died of a heart attack. She placed his ashes in two urns and sent them to Chuck's daughter in Florida, where he wanted the ashes to be spread in the Florida Keys, his favorite fishing spot. However, the ashes never made it there.
According to Chuck's daughter, the package arrived containing Chuck's flannel shirt and nothing else.
"I just felt like I lost him all over again," Kelley said at the time. "I'm hoping it's sitting on someone's desk and they just don't know who it belongs to," she said.
Kelley tracked the ashes from New Hampshire to New Jersey and finally Florida, she told WCVB.
