Night owls finally have a marathon to call their own. The MoonWalk NYC, taking place Saturday, will be the city’s first overnight marathon, according to organizers.
Moonwalkers will set off at 10:30 p.m. from Randall Island, wearing brightly colored bras to raise funds for Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center’s Breast Examination Center in Harlem. The marathon course will make its way into Manhattan, along the East River to Lower Manhattan and up the West Side before coming back to Randall Island. The full loop is 26 miles long. The race ends at 4:30 a.m.
The MoonWalk was started 15 years ago in London. This is the first one to take place in the United States.
