The newest addition to the Franklin Park Zoo has plenty of stripes, but it doesn’t have a name.

A Facebook poll is being conducted by the zoo to name the new Grevy’s zebra foal, and it could end up being named for a Red Sox star.

The four choices are Papi (after David “Big Papi” Oritz); Koji (after Sox closer Koji Uehara); Jakobi, which is a word used in West Africa meaning star and is also similar to Sox outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury; andHodari, a Swahili word meaning strong and powerful.

Born Oct. 16, the male foal is not yet on exhibit to the public. A day after it was born, veterinarians determined it weighed 106 pounds and was in good health.

According to the zoo,Grevy’s are an endangered zebra species mostly due to habitat loss and poaching. They are primarily found in Kenya, with a smaller population in Ethiopia and currently in the wild, the species number less than 2,700.

Voting runs through Nov. 1.
