More than 60 students at Teaneck High School in Bergen County, New Jersey, were arrested Thursday after police said they urinated in hallways, greased doorknobs with petroleum jelly and taped hot dogs to lockers after breaking into their school overnight.
Students told police it was their senior class prank, an annual tradition at the North Jersey school.
Police responded to the school's burglar alarm about 2 a.m. They found desks overturned, broken chairs, graffiti, silly string and balloons, reports the Associated Press.
Twenty-four students who are 18 or older were charged with burglary and criminal mischief. The remaining juveniles were released to their parents.
The school district superintendent said the board also may consider disciplinary action.
