One of the first things Bill de Blasio will do as mayor is swear in his new police commissioner, Bill Bratton.
The ceremony is slated to take place at police headquarters at noon. This will be Bratton's first public appearance as the NYPD's new top cop.
Bratton will be the NYPD's 42nd Police Commissioner.
He was already officially sworn in at 12:01 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2014 in a private ceremony at police headquarters by the NYPD's Deputy Commissioner of Personnel, Arnold S. Wechsler. He was reportedly accompanied by his wife, Rikki Klieman.
