An attack in Boston's North End on Saturday has residents on high alert.
Shortly after 1 a.m. on Saturday, police responded to a report of a sexual assault on Unity Street in the North End. The victim, a woman in her 20s, told police that she was entering her apartment when a man pushed his way in behind her.
After assaulting the woman, the suspect then took a photo with his cellphone and fled toward Tileston Street, according to Boston Police. The victim was treated on the scene for minor injuries.
The suspect was described as a white man in his 20s of medium build, with short blond spiked hair, clean shaven with possible freckles on his cheeks, and blue eyes. He wore a dark colored peacoat, dark hat, jeans and Timberland-type boots.
An area surveillance video captured footage of a man fleeing the area around the time of the incident. He is shown rounding the corner, and jogging away from the area. Authorities did not state whether the man in the video is the attacker, but they do believe he could have information about the assault.
Anyone with information is asked to call Sexual Assault Unit detectives at 617-343-4400.
