Some of you may have heard about free Nutella in Boston; and as word spreads, so does the Happy.
Nutella is celebrating its 50th anniversary as The Original Hazelnut Spread this year with fans throughout the U.S., and will be in Boston through Tuesday as part of its Spread the Happy promotional truck tour.
On Thursday morning, the truck began out free samples of Nutella - on either apple slices or waffles - to fans at City Hall Plaza.
The freebie fun continues: Friday at Harvard Square; Saturday at Central Market in Lowell; Sunday at the Navy Yard; and Tuesday at Faneuil Hall. The Nutella truck operates between 8 a.m.and 1 p.m., and according to organizers, crowds start forming around lunch time.

"It makes me very happy. I love free food," said Malta, whose favors Nutella on bananas.
Long-time Nutella lover Fawn Heyer fawned over the spread with her friend Stephanie Duca, who was indulging in her first experience.
The free snack snagged Duca's approval.
"I had never tried Nutella… It's like chocolate and peanut butter which is the best combination you can ever have," she said. When asked if she'll be back for more freebies in coming days, Duca said, "Oh hell yeah, I'll visit all week. I'll track it down at every stop. They can spread the love all over me."
