NYC parks to get ‘free’ Wi-Fi — in 2011

NEW YORK. Free Wi-Fi is finally coming to New York City parks next year. But don’t get too comfy with your laptop: It’s only good for 30 minutes a month. After that, it’s 99 cents a day, the Daily News reported yesterday.

City officials inked a $10 deal with Time Warner and Cablevision to build Wi-Fi in the 32 parks as part of negotiations to renew their television franchises for another 10 years.
