NYPD arrests man in Illinois after Staten Island murder

NYPD officers arrested a man in Illinois today in connection with the murder of a man who was celebrating his engagement the night he was killed.

Antonio Lacertosa was stabbed to death early Saturday morning at a Staten Island restaurant, reportedly after intervening in a fight between the restaurant’s employees and his brothers, who had been urinating outside.

He was celebrating his engagement with his fiancée.

Cops said they found Redinel Dervishaj in Palo Hills, Ill., where he reportedly had relatives.

The Daily News called him an “Albanian gangster,” saying he was previously sought by cops after a 2007 murder.
