A 22-year-old BMW passenger was killed after the car’s drunk driver slammed into a garbage truck early Wednesday in Brooklyn, police said.

Marquis Willis was riding in a 2010 BMW south on Utica Avenue in East Flatbush with two other men around 1:30 a.m. when the car crashed into the back of a sanitation truck as it was making a left turn onto Avenue D from Utica, according to the NYPD.

Willis, who lived in East Flatbush, was rushed to Kings County Hospital and pronounced dead, police said. Another passenger is in critical condition at the same hospital.

The 26-year-old BMW driver, whose name was not released, was impaired when the car hit the truck and is expected to be charged for driving under the influence, police said. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital in stable condition and is in police custody, according to the NYPD.

The BMW driver also had past warrants for DWIs, police said.

After the crash, the private sanitation truck’s driver was arrested on unrelated open warrants, police said. He and another passenger in the truck were not injured.
