NYPD: One killed, five injured, in Bronx nightclub shooting and assaults

A man was killed after being shot in the torso outside of a Bronx nightclub early Sunday morning, police said. Five other men were injured in the ordeal.


The NYPD responded to Xtreme Lounge at 2510 Valentine Ave., just north of Fordham Road, at 3:50 a.m. Officers foundthree men shot, two men slashed and one man hit with a baseball bat outside of the club.

A 24-year-old man, Dennis Rodriguez of East 137th Street, was shot in the torso, and was pronounced dead after arriving by ambulance at St. Barnabas Hospital. A 21-year-old man was shot in the head, and is critical condition, police said.

A 21-year-old man who was shot in the leg is listed in stable condition, as well as the other victims.

The incident continues to be investigated by police.
