Police said a Brooklyn man tried to punch an officer when cops began to arrest another man during a pot bust.
On Sunday shortly after midnight, officers with the NYPD's housing bureau reportedly stopped a 24-year-old named Stanley Dorcuis for marijuana possession in front of the Red Hook East housing development on Columbia Street.
As the arresting officers apprehended Dorcuis, a second man identified as 22-year-old Rocky Harris allegedly decided to put up a fight.
Authorities said Harris tried to throw a punch at one of the officers, but never landed it. When the cops tried to subdue Harris after his failed flying fist, he managed to get loose and fled from the scene.
Police ran after the suspect, including an unnamed 36-year-old uniformed lieutenant who fell during the case. The 10-year veteran of the forced was taken to Lutheran Medical Center where he was treated for lacerations and bruising to his face and head.
While Dorcuis remained in custody and charged with criminal possession of marijuana, police are still looking for Harris, who is described as 5-feet-9-inches tall and about 170 pounds.
Police are asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 800-577-TIPS or to submit tips online.
