The Nassau County Police Department confirmed Monday evening that the body found in the Hudson River Monday morning was Sang Ho Kim, the suspect wanted for the shooting at an office near East Garden City in Long Island last week.

Kim was identified by his fingerprints, a Nassau County Police spokesman said. State authorities who discovered his body said his body appeared to have been in the water for several days.

He was found near Iona Island and the Bear Mountain Bridge in Bear Mountain State Park, state authorities said, about 11 miles south of Cold Spring, N.Y., where his car had been found Wednesday evening.

Police believe Kim was the shooter who last week fired on two people at the Saveenergy office where he worked, located at 645 South Street in East Garden City. One victim, identified as a young employee, 25-year-old Zachariah Yong Jae Shin of Whitestone, Queens, was killed. The other victim, Kim's boss at Saveenergy, survived.

Nassau County Police said their investigation spanned 7,400 acres of Hudson Highlands Park and the surrounding waterways along the Hudson River. That search is now over and no more suspects are being sought, though the investigation into the shooting continues, police said.
