Order ice cream on your smartphone this Friday via the Uber app

Forget about summoning a livery cab. Instead, we’ve got an app that can summon ice cream trucks.

An app that normally allows users to summon a car service will — for one day only this Friday — help people track down ice cream trucks instead.

Uber offers a smartphone app for requesting cars.

But this Friday, July 13 the company is extending their service to seven cities for a one-day experiment; customers will be able to call an ice cream truck to their locations in San Francisco, New York, Seattle, Chicago, Boston, Washington and Toronto.

The trucks will be available in New York from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and from noon to 6 p.m. in the other six cities.

To take advantage tomorrow, simply download the Uber app.
