PATCO says it will cost $102.8 million to rebuild its high-speed line over the Ben Franklin Bridge between Camden and Philadelphia.
The cost represents a 47 percent increase over PATCO's original estimate, but the project's higher-than-expected price tag won't require hikes to bridge tolls since other PATCO projects have come in below projections, officials said.
Delaware River Port Authority board committees approved the $102.8 million project on Wednesday, Philly.com reports. If approved by the full DRPA board next week, the project will get underway in August.
It is expected it will take 27 months to complete the work, which will include replacing tracks, ties, and communication systems.
