New England Patriots defensive back Alfonzo Dennard was arrested for DUI early Thursday morning after police spotted his vehicle straddling a lane line in Lincoln, Nebraska.
According to the Omaha World-Herald, Lincoln police Capt. Jason Stille said Dennard, 24, was pulled over and then cited around 2 a.m. Thursday near 50th Street and Normal Boulevard.
Dennard was traveling westbound in a Honda when police saw his vehicle straddling a lane line between 50th and 56th Streets. He was then was arrested on suspicion of DUI, refusing a chemical test and a driving infraction.
Over a year ago, Dennard was convicted of punching an officer in the face after he was questioned about a bar fight in Lincoln. He was sentenced to 30 days in jail, but was told by the judge that his sentence wouldn’t begin until March 1, 2014, which is during the NFL offseason, the article continued.
Dennard's teammate, Aaron Hernandez, is currently facing murder charges in the death of semi-pro football player Odin Lloyd.
