Cat and tea enthusiasts in New York City will soon be able to curl up together in a permanent cat cafe, called Little Lions.

The teahouse is imagined as a “tranquil space where one can come and drink unique varieties of locally procured teas” and interact with shelter cats, according to their crowdfunding website. Little Lions is partnering with Anjellical Cats Rescue, a New York City non-profit, no-kill cat shelter.

Little Lions says the permanent cat cafe will be a refuge for felines and humans both, and provide cat access to New Yorkers for whom owning one is not a possibility.

By Thursday afternoon, Little Lions had raised nearly $3,000 of the $65,000 they’re asking for (though their ideal target is $100,000).

Last spring, New Yorkers waited in line, many for hours, to spend time in a Lower East Side pop-up cat cafe that lasted for four days.
