JFK Boulevard can only handle so many Irishmen.
The 234th annual St. Patrick's Day parade will kick off in Center City on Sunday at noon, and police will close JFK Boulevard starting at 9 a.m.
The parade will start in the 1600 block of JFK Boulevard and proceed east to 16th Street, turning north toward Benjamin Franklin Parkway, then head west on the parkway to the north side of Eakins Oval, where the viewing stand will be set up, according to a news release.
The following streets will be temporarily closed:
JFK Boulevard: From 16th to 20th streets, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
16th Street: From Market Street to the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, noon to 3 p.m.
Benjamin Franklin Parkway: From 16th Street to Eakins Oval, from noon to 4 p.m.
