Protestors plan to converge on HarrisburgTuesday in an attempt to convince state legislators to restore billions in funding they say has been cut from the education budget since Gov. Tom Corbett took office in 2010.
The demands include Corbett and the General Assembly "make education funding a top priority in the 2013-14 budget," according to a news release, and "putting full and fair funding for public education ahead of new tax cuts for corporations."
Buses will depart from Pittsburgh, Scranton and Philadelphia at 8 a.m. with plans to arrive in Harrisburg by Noon.
In the past Corbett has pushed alternatives to public schools alternatives and has criticized school boards and teachers’ unions.
