Mayor Thomas Menino is the longest-serving head of Boston in the city's history.
The 70-year-old, five-term mayor has attended countless ribbon cuttings, tree lightings and business openings. But what Bostonians can sometimes take for granted is that we have a mayor who enjoys a good time and can sometimes get easily bored, leading to good photographs.
With Menino expected to announce Thursday that he is not running for re-election this fall, Metro searched its archive and found some of the most memorable Menino photographs we have collected through the years. The photos range from Menino eating (there are two of those!) and bicycling, to Menino comforting and honoring.
