Plane makes emergency landing at Newark airport

A plane was forced to make an emergency “belly-landing” at Newark Airport just before 7 p.m. Monday because of a nose gear problem, according to an NBC report.

The Shuttle America flight from Atlanta announced a problem with its nose gear before landing at 6:40 p.m. The nose gear had collapsed, according to the report.

The plane skidded onto the runway on its underside and passengers had to exit the plane on emergency chutes.
