A delivery driver was set up by a group of teens who tried to rob him, but were promptly arrested by police.

Officers were called Ellington Street in Dorchester just before 11 p.m. Tuesday night for a report of an attempted robbery.

When they arrived they met the driver who said he got a call for a delivery and that the caller told him to bring change for $100.

The driver showed up, but feared he may be robbed, so he reached out to the caller. At that point three teens exited the house. One was carrying a gun, the driver told police.

That’s when the driver fled and called police.

While the driver was talking to officers, the three teens walked around the corner and onto the street.

Police arrested the three 15 year olds and charged them with the armed robbery. Police said officers did not recover a gun, but did seize a cell phone.
