Abington police are asking members of the community there to line the South Shore town’s streets on Tuesday when fallen Marine Sgt. Daniel Vasselian returns home.

Vasselian, 27, was killed in action while serving in Afghanistan on Dec. 23.

On Monday, Abington police announced the route that Vasselian’s procession will take through the town before arriving at the funeral home. Police said they anticipate the procession to take place sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The town’s police and fire departments are making available flags for anyone who wants to hold them as they line the procession route.

A wake is scheduled for Wednesday at Quealy and Son Funeral Home, and a funeral Mass will take place Thursday at St. Bridget Church.
