State and local police seized heroin and another drug suspected to be molly during a raid in Brockton at the same time that three more people overdosed on a drug during a concert at the Bank of America Pavilion.

Molly, a name used for the powder form of MDMA, which is the chemical used in ecstasy, has been suspected in various overdoses in Boston and New York City within the last week. A 19-year-old New Hampshire girl died and two other people were hospitalized after apparently overdosing during a concert at the House of Blues last week.

On Saturday night three men were taken to the hospital after suffering overdose symptoms during a concert at the Seaport District venue. Sound Tribe Sector 9, a rock and electronic music group, was performing.

According to the Drug Enforcement Administration, high doses of MDMA can interfere with the ability to regulate body temperature, resulting in a sharp increase in body temperature leading to liver, kidney and cardiovascular failure.

Boston police said detectives are investigating the incident.

Also Saturday night, state police said troopers and Brockton police arrested three people during a joint operation. The people were arrested on outstanding warrants and drug charges.

During the operation, police seized 12 grams of heroin and 16 grams of what they believed to be molly.

Authorities in New York City are also investigating the overdose of a University of New Hampshire student, who diedfrom what is believed to bemolly taken during a music festival last weekend, according to the Globe.
