Boston police on Monday identified the man who was fatally shot during a weekend that experienced an uptick in violence and left eight people with gunshot wounds.

A man found fatally shot in Roslindale late Saturday night was identified by police as Nelson Castillo, 25, of Boston.

The bloody weekend took place mostly within a 24-hour span.

Police said Castillo was found in a parking lot adjacent to 75 Archdale Road at 11:48 p.m. He was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds and pronounced dead at the scene.

Earlier Saturday, at about 1 p.m., officers found a man and a woman shot near Elm Hill Avenue in Roxbury.

Just after 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, two women were found shot in Mission Hill.

And just minutes before that incident, three people were shot outside the Stadium Sports Bar & Grill in South Boston. Police are reviewing video surveillance in that incident to help them solve the shooting.

There were no arrests made in any of the shootings as of Monday morning.

Anyone with information can call 800-494-TIPS.
