Police make arrest in today’s fatal stabbing

Boston Police arrested a 24-year-old Dorchester man for allegedly stabbing another man early this morning.

Lester James was arrested this afternoon and will be arraigned tomorrow for the murder of the 23-year-old man, police said.

Officers responded to the stabbing on Sumner Street in Dorchester just after midnight. The victim’s identity has not yet been released.

About three hours before the fatal stabbing, police were on the scene of a double shooting in Roxbury.

Two men in their 20s were found shot multiple times near 3 Kensington Park just before 9:30 p.m.

One of the men died and the other suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.

Both victims are known to police, they said.
