Police have ruled the deaths of two people found in a high-rise apartment building in the Spring Garden section of Philadelphia Sunday night a murder-suicide.
Police on Monday morning identified the victim as Rio Acosta Magden, 29, and the shooter as Carlos Eugene Acosta, 30. The couple lived together in the Museum Towers apartment where their bodies were discovered.
Police found Magden's body in the bedroom of the Buttonwood Street apartment she shared with her boyfriend at around 8:30 p.m. Sunday, police said.
Acosta's body was found nearby. He reportedly died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Police did recover a firearm from the apartment and have ruled the case a murder-suicide resulting from an incident of domestic violence.
