Police recover assault weapons from Bronx apartment

A Bronx man was arrested Saturday after cops discovered a weapons cache inside his bedroom closet.

Having consented to being searched, Enrique Santiago, 49, stood by as police pulled out over 500 rounds of ammunition, a .45-caliber Colt semi-automatic handgun and three assault rifles, including two with bayonets attached.

Santiago resides on St. Pauls Place near 3rd Avenue. The day earlier, two illegal guns were discovered just a few blocks away in a teenager’s bedroom closet.
