A 29-year-old Quincy man will face a judge today and answer to charges that he allegedly robbed three Boston college students last weekend while using a pellet gun.
Evan Holmes was charged with armed robbery, according to Brookline police.
Police responded to an apartment building at Freeman and St. Paul streets just after midnight Saturday for a report of an armed robbery.
Officers were met by three unidentified women who said they were spending the night with their friend and were walking near the apartment building when they were approached by two men with a gun. The men demanded their purses and fled.
The three women, who attend Boston University, Northeastern University and New England Conservatory, said they also had their iPhones stolen.
The women provided descriptions of the men and the direction in which they fled.
Last night, police served an arrest warrant for Holmes, who lived at a sober home in Quincy. After Holmes was arrested, a manager at the home called police to tell them he had found a black pellet gun under some rags in a bathroom.
Today, police issued a wanted poster for Tyler Mauritson, 27, also of Quincy. He is wanted for being the second suspect in the armed robbery.
