The Red Hook Library reopened for the first time today after six months of closure.

The library had been shuttered since Hurricane Sandy wrecked the Red Hood neighborhood.

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz was present to reopen the library, which is on Wolcott Street in Brooklyn.

Library officials promised to work together with local Red Hook artists on future projects.
