Former Massachusetts senator Scott Brown is hoping a move north will send him back to Washington, D.C.

Brown is expected to formally announce that he’s running in New Hampshire for the US Senate during an event planned for Thursday, according to the Globe.

The 54-year-old will try to unseat incumbent Democrat Sen.Jeanne Shaheen.

Brown won a special election in 2010 to replace the late Sen. Ted Kennedy. He was then beat by current Sen. Elizabeth Warren in his bid for re-election in 2012.

Brownput his Wrentham home up for salelast year and moved to Rye, N.H.

The move to run is not surprising as Brown has recently been traveling throughout the state with his wife Gail on a “listening tour” for the past few weeks. New Hampshire station WMUR reported last week that Brown would seek the Republican nomination and run for senate.
