Royal Wedding: How Boston is celebrating

Have you caught the royal wedding fever? Well there are plenty of local businesses that have a prescription for you.

Have you caught the royal wedding fever?

Well there are plenty of local businesses that have a prescription for you.

Hoping to capitalize on Will and Kate’s special day, which will be broadcast around the world, Boston businesses are offering up everything from high tea to specialized treats.

A temporary heart-shaped doughnut will be available through Friday at Dunkin’ Donuts locations. The Canton-based company’s CEO, who is a dual U.S. and British citizen, inspired the tasty treat.

Tomorrow, the British chocolate shop Hotel Chocolat on Newbury Street will offer samples of Prince William’s favorite treat — biscuits (or cookies in the U.S.) with chocolate.

“Folks can get a bit of a taste of the wedding on the auspicious day,” said the shop’s CEO Nicki Doggart.

For those who want to watch the wedding pageantry, but don’t want to lose any sleep, there are various locations replaying the event.

Aura, at the Seaport Hotel, is serving a special English Tea menu starting at 2 p.m. as the wedding is played on TV.

The nuptials will also be replayed from noon to 2 p.m. at the Old State House, the oldest British Royal building in the country, according to the Bostonian Society. Visitors will also be able to sign an official wedding register.
