The search for a missing Brown University student continues Monday morning, as Massachusetts State Police attempt to find clues as to where the young hunter could be.
Dana Dourdeville, 21, went missing last Tuesday after leaving his Marion home and heading out for a hunting trip on Martha's Vineyard.
On Sunday, a large party continued their search for Dourdeville through West Island in Fairhaven. According to party organizer Bill Tilden, athletic director at Old Rochester Regional High School where Doudeville graduated, so many people attempted to participate that the party had to be limited.
"Sounds crazy but search group for tonight has gotten too big and we can't fit everyone," Tilden said via Twitter. "Please just family and friends [at West Island]."
A Coast Guard helicopter found Dourdeville’s empty kayak last Tuesday floating offshore between West Island and Falmouth, the Cape Cod Times reported Wednesday. Inside the kayak was a single dry glove and it did not appear to have flipped over, Coast Guard Command Duty Officer Michael Caianiello told the Cape Cod Times.
Dourdeville is a graduate of Old Rochester Regional in Mattapoisett, where he excelled in athletics and was known as a talented runner.
