The maskless bank robber who allegedly stole more than $24,000 from several different banks over a three-week span is now in police custody, officials said.
Philadelphia-native Tarik Hooks, 35, was arrested Feb. 22 after the security director for the Wells Fargo branch in Lansdowne received an anonymous tip. Hooks allegedly robbed the bank on Feb. 8.
Capitalizing on a combination of video footage, witness accounts and tracking devices, federal officials were able to link Hooks to several vehicles that were supposedly used in the robberies.
Federal officials say Hooks confessed to the robberies.
